Edward J. Hovatter concentrates his practice on the acquisition, use, development and sale of real property.  Mr. Hovatter focuses particularly upon real estate acquisition, development (including local, county, state and federal agency approval), construction and the leasing or sale of property to a third party.  He devotes a substantial portion of his time to residential and commercial transactions, commercial leasing, general contract and construction related matters, including areas involving architects, civil engineers and other real estate related professionals.  He is recognized for his business acumen maintaining successful careers in both business and law.

Mr. Hovatter received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University where he graduated with Distinction in Major (4.0 GPA).  He then received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Temple Law School, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.  In 1990, Mr. Hovatter won best brief and best argument in the Samuel J. Polsky Moot Court Competition, one of few students in the law school’s history to accomplish both.  He is a listed member of Who’s Who in American Law, Seventh Edition, 1990-1991.  In 1996, while in private practice, his firm, Hovatter & Becker, LLC, won Burlington County’s “Finest Attorneys”.  In, 2000, Mr. Hovatter and his practice joined Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky where he is a shareholder of the firm.  Mr. Hovatter is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey, United States District Court for District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  He is also a member of the Burlington County and Camden County Bar Associations.

Mr. Hovatter resides in Southern New Jersey and serves as Secretary and Development Clerk of Moorestown Friends School where he also sits on its Board of Trustees.
