Matthew A. Tucker joined the litigation department of Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky in May of 2005 upon graduation from Rutgers School of Law in Camden, NJ.

While obtaining his Juris Doctor degree, Mr. Tucker was the three-year recipient of Rutgers School of Law-Camden’s Academic Promise Scholarship and participated in the school’s James Hunter III Memorial 2003-2004 Advanced Moot Court Competition, in which he was a semifinalist and authored a “Top Ten” brief award. During his time at Rutgers-Camden, Mr. Tucker also served as a summer judicial intern in the chambers of the Honorable Clifford Scott Green of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and as an externship appointment to the City of Philadelphia Law Department’s Labor & Employment division. In addition, Mr. Tucker was a member of the Rutgers Journal of Law & Urban Policy, serving as Senior Marketing & Public Relations Editor from 2004-2005.

Prior to entering law school, Mr. Tucker worked as an Amendment Coordinator in the New York office of Weil Gotshal & Manges, LLP, where he assisted the firm’s Structured Finance & Derivatives department.

Mr. Tucker received his Bachelors degree in Political Science from Tufts University. During his time at Tufts, Mr. Tucker was a member of the undergraduate Student Senate and served on student-faculty committees examining the role of R.O.T.C. on campus and the implementation of need-blind admissions policies.

Mr. Tucker is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the District of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and he has appeared pro hac vice in the District of Columbia and the Northern District of Georgia. He is also a member of the Camden County, Philadelphia, and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
