One quarterback to another...
Allen Iverson, an all-state high school quarterback in Virginia, to Donovan McNabb, the 0-2 Eagles' suddenly embattled quarterback.
Iverson wore a McNabb No. 5 jersey last night as he sat on a podium in the Wachovia Center and signed a 4-year contract extension that guarantees him $104.8 million over six seasons.
McNabb has struggled since signing a contract worth $115 million over 12 years.
"I wore it for a reason," Iverson said. "Just to show the support I have for him.
"It's tough living the life we live...People feel because we get paid a certain amount of money, we're not human anymore, [that] we don't have feelings, we're not human anymore.
"We are. We make mistakes like anybody else, [but] people watch every move we make. The guy had two bad football games. People who say they love him are booing him. I was just hurting for him.
"I just wanted to show him that support, and let him know I'm rooting for him. Hopefully, everything will get better for him and his team."
