Matthew Podolnick is a shareholder and a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. He concentrates his practice in the areas of divorce and family law.
Matthew offers his family law clients a blend of legal knowledge, business sense, compassion, and tenacity. Because of these notable skills, Matthew helps clients through the emotional and financial burdens that come with family problems. Matthew’s courtroom expertise is extensive. Having litigate for over 30 years, Matthew is an experienced trial attorney who tirelessly strives to achieve his clients’ goals.
His family law experience is vast and covers all aspects of divorce and family law, including:
- Pre-divorce advice and guidance, to help clients understand their rights and options
- Divorce and separation: asset protection, division of assets and liabilities, alimony, child support, custody, and parenting time
- Post-divorce matters: adjusting alimony and child support payments due to changed circumstances; enforcing property settlement agreements and other court orders; changing parenting schedules; relocating/moving within or out of state
- Defending termination of parental rights
- Pre-nuptial agreements
- Domestic violence
- Guardianship, adoption and grandparents’ rights
- Mid-marriage agreements and co habitations agreements
Although Matthew has been concentrating his practice in family law and divorce litigation for the past 20 years, Matthew brings to the table unique skills drawn from his years as a seasoned commercial litigator. Additionally, before attending law school, Matthew gained considerable business knowledge by working in the corporate offices of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. Matthew earned his business degree before attending law school and understands balance sheets, profit and loss statements, tax returns and how to handle complex business issues that part of the divorce litigation. After law school, Matthew served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable George L. Seltzer, Superior Court of New Jersey Law Division, Atlantic County.
Matthew also assists people going through the dissolution of their marriage or dealing with the multiple issues that impact families, by offering private mediation services. He also served as an arbitrator for the South Jersey Fee Arbitration Committee to address fee disputes between clients and their attorneys.
Due to this broad knowledge base, Matthew brings value to his family law. He is respected among his colleagues in the matrimonial bar and earned a reputation among his peers and the judges as being knowledgeable, appropriately tenacious and committed to his clients.

Matthew enjoys cooking, skiing and working on his garden. He also enjoys spending his down time with his wife and children.
