Merck Sued Over Side Effects from Finasteride / Propecia

March 16, 2011

The Philadelphia Inquirer recently reported on a law suit filed against Merck & Co. Inc. in federal court in Camden, New Jersey by attorney Alan Milstein.

Merck is being sued in the United States and Canada by young men who say the drug finasteride, widely prescribed to fight male hair loss, left them with permanent sexual dysfunction after they quit taking it.

They allege that Merck has long known that sexual side effects can persist and that the company even added a warning to product labeling in some European countries - but not in the U.S. or Canada.
